If We Can Do It

They said we couldn’t do it,

That all we do everyday,

Is get up and sit,

They said we’re helpless,

But we proved them wrong,

On the way to success.

Our muscles may be weak,

But we are forever strong,

With our minds this sharp,

Nothing can go wrong,

We take charge of our dreams,

Tackling whatever comes along,

So if we can do it,

So can you.

If we can do it,

There ain’t nothing,

You can’t do,

We don’t let anything in our way,

You can do the same day by day,

So get out there,

And take on the world,

If we can do it,

So can you.

I know a guy with DMD,

And he did something amazing to me,

He got married to a beautiful girl,

And he has a brand new daughter,

He is what you’d call a great father,

If he can do it,

So can you.

I know a few men that love politics,

Even though their DNA needs a fix,

They wish they could Stand Up for your rights,

But they can do anything sitting down,

With a new job for a senator in town,

If they can do it,

So can you.

If we can do it,

You can’t do,

We don’t let anything in our way,

You can do the same day by day,

So get out there,

And take on the world,

I know a teacher,

That loves his school,

He teaches kids that music is cool,

Even with BMD,

He can play a C,

What he does is amazing to me,

If he can do it,

So can you.

And then there is me,

Who is as optimistic,

As can be,

I never thought,

I could do anything,

Until I saw the hope,

The above men did bring,

If I can do it,

So can you.
